Established in 1971, the Rotondo Precast plant in Fredericksburg, VA is designed to manufacture precast modular box elements. Situated on 28 acres, the 55,000 sq. ft. facilities house both heated manufacturing and warehouse space. The plant is located halfway between Washington DC and Richmond, VA just off Route 95.
This state-of-the-art manufacturing plant has the capacity to store nearly 500 tons of cement and aggregates. The computer controlled batching system uses the latest in digital technology and a 4-1/2 yard Mixer Systems turbine concrete mixer. Air and steam run the entire length of the buildings and are readily available for production. This facility's normal operating volume is 125 to 175 yards per day.
High-quality equipment supports the Fredericksburg plant. Overhead cranes with lifting capacities of 25 tons are employed in the manufacturing- facility. Out in the yard an 80,000 lb. CAT V800 fork truck, a 25-ton travel lift, a mid-size loader, and several smaller lifting machines are used to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Rotondo completed renovations to over 15,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space in 1996. This space now houses a steel fabrication, finishing and assembly area. Other significant features and facts:
* Fully outfitted carpenter shop * Fully equipped specialty tool crib * Four 12-ton boom truck/trailers * Almost 20 trailers * Specialty products warehouse * Maintenance and form repair shop |
